As the "disc-jockey", you can even choose exactly when, during your link, the next playlist item starts, so you can "talk up intros", if that's your style.

Using this method, and with careful playlist planning, you can record a four-hour show in around half an hour (because you are only recording the links!) and up to many weeks in advance.
